America’s only ally in the Middle East, Israel, continues to thwart efforts of the Hamas terrorist organization.
Israeli Prime Minister said earlier this week that the difference between Israel and Hamas is “We are using our missile defense to protect our civilians, and they’re using their civilians to protect their missiles.” Hamas, the government type presence in the Gaza Strip holds their weapons in places mostly inhabited by innocent civilians. In retaliation, Israel is forced to send their rockets into schools, tunnels, hospitals, and other populated areas, causing the death toll to rise quickly.
Israel, much to Hama’s dismay, is coming off as a mere retaliator–a moral one, at that–in this situation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu states in his interview with Fox News, “no country can accept [the consistent bombing], we can’t accept it, and we’ll take the necessary actions to stop it.”
Further, Israel continues to warn the Palestinian citizens on imminent missile strikes. From dropping leaflets to making phone calls, the US ally has told citizens to move away from the Hamas terror targets. Earlier today, Israel agreed to the United Nations ceasefire agreement. The five hour ceasefire, beginning at 10am local time, allows humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip to be carried out safely and efficiently.
At the same time, Israeli armies prepare for a ground invasion if Hamas rockets continue to be fired. The death toll in Palestine has reached 189 over a period of eight days of attacks. Israel’s ‘iron dome’ has worked spectacularly as defense against the Hama’s attacks.
